About
Founded in 2019 in Soacha, Cundinamarca, Colombia, Quillango Editores emerged as a symbol of cultural resilience and a love for the written word in a place where literature has historically been underrepresented. We are the first independent publishing house in the municipality and take pride in being a pioneer in promoting bibliodiversity, broadening horizons for new talents, and connecting readers with emerging and established authors from Colombia, Latin America, and countries such as the United States and Australia.
The name Quillango originates from the Yámana community in Tierra del Fuego, Chile, referring to a woven garment that provides warmth and protection. To us, each book is a quillango: a haven of carefully crafted words, full of stories that warm the spirit and broaden perspectives.
Bibliodiversity: We publish emerging voices and international authors, advocating for diverse and inclusive literature.
Cultural connection: Our focus is on works that explore the richness of Latin American culture and beyond.
Editorial quality: We closely accompany authors throughout the creation and editing process, ensuring both the content and the artistic design of each book.
International bridges: We believe literature is a tool for connecting cultures. That’s why we actively work to distribute our books in bookstores and international fairs.
